Redmi Note 7 Running Snapdragon 660 Spotted on Geekbench

Redmi recently announced that it will work as a separate brand and will focus on the budget smartphones more. The sub-brand of Xiaomi will launch their first smartphone in the next few days which could be the Redmi 7 Series or the Redmi 2 Pro. Both the smartphone appeared on geekbench and TENAA so either of them could launch in China this week.

Talking of the Note series, The Redmi Note 7 recently appeared on the famous benchmarking website Geekbench. It suggests that Redmi could launch the real successor of Redmi Note 5 this year.

Redmi Note 7 Specifications

The device is powered by Snapdragon 660 AIE chipset which is paired with the 6GB of RAM. Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 is the 14nm chipset. Comparing to the Redmi Note 5 which is powered by Snapdragon 625 chipset, Snapdragon 660 is a decent mid-range chipset.

If the geekbench listing is to believe, It will be a good upgrade over its predecessor Redmi Note 5 and also Redmi Note 6 Pro which was powered by Snapdragon 636 chipset. If the Redmi Note 7 is powered by Snapdragon 660 then we are hoping the Redmi Note 7 Pro could be powered by Snapdragon 675 chipset.

Coming back to the benchmark score, Redmi Note 7 received 1462 in single core score and 4556 in multi-core score. The device is powered by Snapdragon 660 chipset coupled with 6GB RAM and runs on Android Pie. Snapdragon 660 chipset can run at 2.1GHz clock frequency but it seems like Xiaomi is using an underclocked version of Snapdragon 660.

A few days back mysterious Redmi device spotted on TENAA which is speculated to be the Redmi 7. It has a 6.3-inch display and is packed with 3900mAh battery. It has a glossy back panel and likely to launch with multiple gradient colors.
