Xiaomi MIUI 10 8.11 Developer Version will Support All Google Camera Apps Without Root

Google camera is packed with some of the powerful algorithms and this is the key reason why Google camera is the first choice when it comes to the camera app. And with the Pixel 3 launch, Google has made the camera app more interactive. One of the exciting features is Night Sight. But, to proceed further in some of the Xiaomi phones, it requires the HAL3 support which allows some of the device to modify the phone profile to run smoothly and get the root privileges.

It seems, Xiaomi does keep an eye on their smartphone users. And to support the Google Camera app, in new MIUI 10 8.11 Developer version, the company has officially added a HAL3 support by default. These means you will not have to root your Xiaomi device in order to achieve the HAL3 support. After installing the Google Service Framework, the user will be able to install the Google camera very easily.

Reported by the digital blogger Xiao1u on Weibo, the MIUI 10 8.11 version has HAL3 support. So, the user must have to update their MIUI 10 version to 8.11. However, keep in mind this should be a development version. Further, people are facing some sort of problem who have the global MIUI 10 8.11 updates in their Xiaomi device. So, we can come to the conclusion that it might be available only for China ROM.

If your device doesn’t have HAL3 support and still want to install the Google camera app, then kindly follow the steps mentioned below;

  • First, root your device.
  • Now, simply install the Root Explore file manager on your device.
  • Enter into system directory and find the build.prop file.
  • Add following code;
persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1

So, if your device doesn’t have HAL3 support, you can modify the system files. However, we don’t recommend to do that if you are not familiar with the system file modification. If you will pass through any wrong codes, it might create the problem on your device. But… if you are strongly interested in it, you should definitely check out the MIUI Forums. You will get the post there. Honestly, I haven’t searched yet. But if you want me to help you, I will. Leave the comment and do let me know.
