Xiaomi launched two Android One smartphone last year dubbed as Xiaomi Mi A2 and Mi A1 Lite and in some regions, Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite was launched as the Redmi 6 Pro. Since then Xiaomi is working on a successor of a device and may launch soon.
XDA’s Chief Editor, Mishaal Rahman spotted three new devices in source code – Bamboo_sprout, cosmos_sprout, pyxis. Xiaomi is using Sprout suffix in all their Android One devices. Xiaomi Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite Codename is “jasmine_sprout” and “daisy_sprout” respectively while Xiaomi Mi A1 codename is Tissor_Sprout. The third device mentioned in the list with the codename pyxis could be the successor of Xiaomi Mi 6X.

Mishaal Rahman mentions that all three devices should be powered by Snapdragon 7XX chipset and it could be the Snapdragon 730 on Xiaomi Mi A3 and Mi 6X successor. Earlier Xiaomi India head Manu Kumar Jain confirmed that Xiaomi’s upcoming phone will be powered by Snapdragon 730 chipset.
Last Year, Xiaomi launched two Android One smartphone – Mi A2 which was powered by Snapdragon 660 and Mi A2 Lite (aka Redmi 6 Pro) was powered by Snapdragon 625 SoC. So the Xiaomi Mi A3 Lite may pack the upgraded Snapdragon 632 SoC.
Xiaomi Mi A3 could pack the Sony IMX586 48MP Sensor at rear and 32MP Selfie shooter at the front. The device is expected to feature AMOLED display with In-Display fingerprint sensor.
Both Xiaomi Mi A3 and Mi A3 Lite will run on Stock Android based on Android Pie with a guaranteed two major updates. All three smartphone is expected to launch at the end of this month or early next month.
