It seems WhatsApp is now making its fight against the fake news so much tight. Previously the platform released a new feature that lets you tell if the message is forwarded. Well, now this Facebook-owned company is working on some further new features to curb on fake news. WhatsApp to introduce two new features will be dubbed as “Forwarding Info” and “Frequently Forwarded”. The update is in the beta version (v2.19.80) of WhatsApp
Forwarding Info
As the name suggests, this feature will allow users to know how many times that message has been forwarded on that platform. So, you once you have sent any message in WhatsApp, you will have a record to see how many times you’re a message has been forwarded.
Right now, the feature is only available for sent messages. That means the user will only be able to read numbers of messages sent by themselves.
Frequently Forwarded
Right now, you know WhatsApp puts the text ‘forwarded’ on the messages you get in groups or personal chats. So, that you can know. Well, from now on WhatsApp will be converting that ‘forwarded’ tag into ‘frequently forwarded’ tag for messages which are forwarded more than 4 times.
It’s quite a good move from WhatsApp to prevent the fake news from being viral on this platform. The update is right now in Beta update. So, if you are beta tester you can try out new feature by updating your WhatsApp from Play Store.
