Vodafone, Airtel and Idea has Discontinued Talk-time Top-ups

When Reliance Jio made its entry in the telco’s market, I guess most of the telecom companies are not feeling healthy as they were before. However, from the last few couples of months, I am personally having some sort of problem with the Reliance Jio 4G internet speed. Well… well, that’s not the point right now. The other telcos include Vodafone, Airtel and Idea have silently disabled the top-up feature.

No, You Cannot Even Do It Through Retailers as Well

If you are a guy who uses e-wallets to recharge in order to get the service from your telecom service providers, you might have seen some problem or have seen the error when you recharge by entering any amount. Because the these all telcos have now removed the top-up feature. And to keep your service running, you will now have to choose packages which they provide. I know this, not a good news for all them who does top-up around Rs. 30 just… just to keep their service running and to get incoming calls.

In my case, I have SIM card from Vodafone company and the mobile recharge plans are starting from Rs. 95 and that’s for just 28 days. However, there are some combos as well and Paytm will show you available offers when you will enter your mobile number.

As you can see in my case, I have entered my Vodafone mobile number and trying to a top-up of Rs. 50. But, see what message I am getting. In those red texts, “This recharge plan has been discontinued by Vodafone.”

This might be the good move by the telcos in the telecom industry. However, now we have to whether people can afford the monthly Rs. 100 recharge or not. Let me know what do you think about this.
