Samsung Galaxy M40 Tips, Tricks and Hidden Features to Get Most Out of OneUI

Samsung announced Galaxy M40 in India; adding one more family member to it’s online-exclusive M series. Samsung Galaxy M40 comes with Snapdragon 675 SoC, Punch Hole Camera and OneUI on top of Android Pie out the box. Samsung’s own customized Android offers better features that might help you to improve your user experience. So here is the list of Features that you need to know.

Hide Applications

You can hide the application from App drawer if you don’t want anyone else to see that in your device. The application will be hidden from App drawer but you can still access that by searching for the particular app.

To do so, Long Press on Lock Screen –> Home Screen Settings –> Hide Apps –> Select App that you want to hide. 

Enable Night Mode

OneUI has the dedicated night mode for the AMOLED and LCD display. But since Samsung Galaxy M40 doesn’t have AMOLED display the night mode will be not that effective and won’t save the battery. Although, You can still use to get less strain on your eyes while using a phone at night.

To Enable Head Over to, Settings –> Display –> Enable Night Mode.

Change Font

Samsung has this feature from quite a while and the company brings this feature to it’s latest customized OS. You can change the font, make it bold or italic from the setting as per your preference. You can also download the third-party font from the list and set it on your device.

To Change the Font, Settings –> Display –> Font Size and Style –> Select Any

Enable Navigation Gestures

Samsung has added navigation gesture support to the OneUI. By default, a Navigation bar is applied and you change to the gesture from the setting.

To Enable, Settings –> Display –> Navigation bar –> Full Screen Gesture

Flash Notifications

This feature will turn on flash when you get a notification to make sure you don’t miss out any notifications.

to Turn on, Settings –> Accessibility –> Advance –> Flash Notifications.

Reduce Animation

Reducing the animations will result in slightly better performance. Any application will open faster and all the multi-tasking will be smoother than before.

Head Over to, Settings –> Advance –> Reduce Animations.

Floating Keyboard

The new Samsung Keyboard has a floating keyboard feature. This feature is quite helpful when you want to type with your one hand.

Tap on Up Arrow –> Floating Keyboard

Dual Applications

You can use two WhatsApp, Facebook or any other application that is supported. You can have two separate accounts for any social application.

Head Over to, Settings –> Advanced Features –> Tap on Dual Messenger –> Select any application.
