Reliance Jio has announced JioPhone features unlimited calling and 1GB of the internet for just Rs. 49 per month. Now, the second generation of JioPhone has been announced at the company’s 41 Annual General Meeting today which features the QWERTY keyboard and support for the other third-party applications. JioPhone 2
Of course, the device has the upgraded internals compared to the JioPhone. All new JioPhone 2 features 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage to run the device. The user will be able to increase the storage up to using microSD card. It comes with the 2.4-inch QVGA display having the resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. As the older JioPhone runs the newly launched JioPhone 2 will also run on the KaiOS.
Reliance Jio installed 2MP of the camera on the rear side and 0.3MP selfie shooter. The device will have the 2,000 mAh battery to run everything. Further, now this device will have support for some of the third-party applications like Facebook and YouTube. Interestingly the Reliance Jio has now added support for the WhatsApp. It also offers the support for the 24 Indian languages.
Like the older one, it comes with the four-way navigation key on the center. Reliance Jio has also dedicated voice command key to activate their Hello Jio voice Assistant.
Price and Availability
As the company has announced the JioPhone 2 will be available in the Indian market on August 15, 2018, for just Rs. 2,999. With the improved features and new design, the phone got the Rs. 1,500 more in the price compared to the JioPhone. Further, the company will also make few offers available with the phone that the user can select to get the benefits. The user will be able to exchange the older the device with the new one to get the Rs. 500 off while purchasing.
