Redmi Note 6 Pro Supports Quick Charge 3.0 But You Can’t Fast Charge Using Stock Charger

Xiaomi announced Redmi Note 6 Pro in India a few days back with some minor improvement over 9-month-old Redmi Note 5 Pro. We were expecting Xiaomi to do something better with this device to compete the market. Some other OEM is providing Snapdragon 660 and some great features, which is a great deal.

Xiaomi included a new feature which is Quick Charge 3.0 which can charge 40% faster than QC2.0. Although Xiaomi is not providing Quick Charge 3.0 in the box so you need to buy the certified charge separately if you want to use the potential of Note 6 Pro. Quick Charge 3.0 is more power efficient and supports maximum 18W input. Even though Quick Charge 2.0 supports 18W input power it can’t achieve the max power.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro comes with a standard 2A/5V charger which is no different than the other charger. It will still take almost 2 and a half hour to charge that massive battery.

Just to remind you about the specifications, Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro comes with the Snapdragon 636 Octa-core chipset which is paired with the 4GB / 6GB of RAM with the Adreno 509 GPU. Further, it is available in 64GB internal storage. The device runs over the MIUI 10 atop Android 8.1 Oreo.
