Realme U1 Officially Launched in India with Helio P70 and 25MP Selfie Camera; Priced at Rs. 11,999

Oppo’s subbrand Realme launched a new smartphone today in India targetting more selfie lovers. The device sports the Helio P70 chipset which makes it the first device to use the Helio P70 chipset.

Realme U1 does have a plastic body with a gradient finish which looks better in hand. Talking of inside chip, it does have Helio P70 chip inside. MediaTek Helio P70 chip is much better than the Snapdragon 636 but not as good as the Snapdragon 660.

Realme U1 is a selfie-centric device so let’s talk about the camera, At the front, there is a 25MP Sony IMX576 sensor with f/2.0 aperture. At the rear, there are dual 13MP cameras which can take portrait photos. Realme U1 supports 4 new portrait lighting condition for the camera lovers. This device is a complete package for those who want a camera-centric phone and don’t want to spend too much money on Oppo, Vivo devices.

Realme U1 does support the 90fps slow motion video which is great; also company announced that Realme 2 Pro will also get Slow Motion video feature in the upcoming updates.

Realme U1 sports a 6.3-inch FHD+ display with the resolution of 2340 x 1080 with 409 PPI and dew drop notch at the top similar to the Realme 2 Pro. The display is protected by 2.5D Gorilla glass 3. The display used is IPS LCD panel. Realme achieved 90.3% screen by giving dewdrop notch at the top.

The device is packed with the 3500mAh battery; As the ColorOS is not a battery hungry it can easily run all day. It does run on Color OS based on Android 8.1.

Realme doesn’t allow to unlock the bootloader so you can’t install custom ROM and use GCAM and all so make sure; if you want the freedom to use custom ROM and all: choose the right device.

Realme U1 is available in two different variant – 3GB RAM coupled with 32GB of internal storage and 4GB RAM coupled with 64GB of internal storage. Pricing of both variants is Rs. 11,999 and 14,499 respectively.
