MediaTek to Launch its 5G AI-powered Chipset this Week

We are very close to the 5G mobile network. Today, EE – British mobile network operator company has announced that it will make the world’s first 5G network live on May 30 in the United Kingdom. At the same time in the mobile industry manufacturers including Samsung, OnePlus has launched their 5G handsets in the European market. Powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855 chipset with the X50 modem which opens the doors for the 5G network.

After Qualcomm’s successful approach for the 5G chipset, it seems MediaTek has all set to launch its own chipset. As confirmed by the company on it’s official Weibo account, a new MediaTek 5G chipset is coming by the end of this month. That means we will see within this week.

MediaTek’s new 5G chipset would have big sizable improvements to the tasks. Its all processors are capable of working together to power AI tasks. Which means a bigger step forward in AI world. With the AI engine, smartphones will be able to handle artificial intelligence related work which would give a tough competition to the recent mobile chip in the market.

The Taiwanese chipset maker hasn’t revealed much information on its Weibo account. So, we are still in dark about the cores used in the chipset. Although earlier MediaTek announced its Helio M70 5G modem which supposed to take place to bring the 5G capability. Further, the chipset might build under 7nm manufacturing process. So, it will more capable compared to the recent MediaTek Helio P90.

As far as MediaTek’s 5G modem concerned, the chip can support the sub-6GHz band and can accept 5G independent networks as well. The processor might pack the new AI processor APU 2.0 which is packed in earlier released Helio P90 chipset. However, we don’t want to do any kind of bluffing here. So, it will be good if you stay tuned with us to get the latest updates.
