Facebook’s chief executive Mark Zuckerberg plans to integrate the social media platforms – Instagram, Facebook Messenger, and WhatsApp.
All three social media platform will continue to operate as the standalone application but their technical infrastructure will be one – said the person involved.
The plan is still in the early stages and the company started working on it. The company is expecting to execute this plan before the end of this year or in the early. It will require thousands of employers to reconfigure how WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook Messenger function at their most basic levels.
While the WhatsApp messages are already protected with an end to end decryption. Zuckerberg has also ordered to add an end to end encryption. The end to end encryption stops the third party (like government) from reading your message.
In a statement, Facebook said it wanted to “build the best messaging experiences we can; and people want messaging to be fast, simple, reliable and private.” It added: “We’re working on making more of our messaging products end-to-end encrypted and considering ways to make it easier to reach friends and family across networks.”
