How to Flash MIUI ROM on Xiaomi Devices

Xiaomi has covered the mid-range smartphone market with their budget smartphones. And there is no doubt, right now, the majority of people prefer Xiaomi devices rather than any other manufacturer. And Xiaomi’s sub-brand Pocophone has recently confirmed the same with their Poco F1 device comes with top-notch internals for less price.

Anyways, you are here to learn how to flash MIUI ROM on your device. Well, here’s a proper guide to do the same. So, make sure you follow all steps carefully one by one as mentioned below. So, without wasting much more time let’s dive into the method.

First things first, there are two ways to flash ROM on your device — Recovery Update and Fastboot Update. And the method you will follow depends upon the type of ROM that you have downloaded – Recovery ROM or Fastboot ROM.

However, I suggest you install the ROM via Recovery Update. Because you will be able to follow the Fastboot method only then when your device will have the bootloader unlocked. So, I have mentioned the Recovery Update method below.

I hope you have successfully downloaded Recovery ROM for your device. So, I am directly going on the steps which you must have to follow carefully.

Please do note: Before you flash ROM take a full backup of all of your data. If there is anything mishappen will take place then we will not be responsible for that.

Step 01:

Rename the downloaded ROM file to ‘’ on the computer.

Step 02:

Connect your device to the Windows PC/laptop via a micro USB cable, and copy the ROM file downloaded and renamed in Step 1 into the root directory of the internal storage of your device. (Do not put it in any folder)

Step 03:

Enter the Recovery mode of your device. There are two methods to enter into recovery mode.

  • Method 1:
    Launch ‘Settings’ app on your device, select ‘About phone’, click ‘System update’, then click the ‘’ icon at the top-right corner, and select ‘Reboot to Recovery mode’ to enter.

  • Method 2:
    You can also turn off your device and then hold both Volume+ button and Power button at the same time to enter Recovery mode.

Step 04:

After entering Recovery mode, choose the language you use, select ‘Install to System One’ and confirm, and then updating will begin automatically. Wait until the update is completed, choose ‘Reboot to System One’, and then your device should boot to the new version.
