Reliance Jio is currently on the first place in mobile telcos. The company is offering mobile internet at a crazy low price. But, following the mobile internet, Reliance Jio released high-speed Fibre-to-the-home internet service back in July at the Reliance Industries’ AGM. Currently, the Reliance Jio broadband service is running across the 1,100 cities in India.
Dubbed as Jio GigaFiber, the high-speed Fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) service is yet to become available in remaining cities. Since the service is launched in last year July 2018, it is running in beta testing. Yet the commercial launch remains to take place which is speculated to kick off on August 12 this year at the Reliance Industries’ Annual General Meeting.
Last week, Reliance Industries revealed that the ongoing beta trials of their Jio GigaFiber services are currently running on their final stages. The beta trials were kickied-off during the initial launch of Jio GigaFiber service.
“Beta trials of JioGigaFiber services have been very successful and the entire bouquet of smart home solutions would soon be rolled out to targeted 50 million households and beyond,” Mukesh Ambani, Chairman, Reliance Industries, had said in a media statement announcing the quarterly results.
However, the company didn’t reveal the exact date when this upcoming commercial launch will take place. But, according to the report by The Hindu, an internal person who is familiar with the Jio GigaFiber development said that the company is indeed planning to launch their Jio GigaFiber service commercially and it could take place during the Reliance Industries’ Annual General Meeting which will take place on August 12 (in next month).
Right now, one can avail for Jio GigaFiber by paying Rs. 4,500 as a security deposit. If you are having a lower budget you can also go for the deposit of Rs. 2,500 with their new plan which offers the home broadband service, voice calls, and IPTV through a single connection.
The service is not available in notable cities yet. The company might expand the service in other cities. However, it might depend upon the invitations. Within MyJio app the company asking to invite your friends for Jio GigaFiber service.
